Included here are a number of examples in downloadable PDF form of projects in critical practice. They are predominantly taken from work in my Community Design Studio at the University of Auckland or from the University of California, Berkeley. The attain the status of critical practice at two levels. One, involving the critical practice of architecture and design out in the community of everyday life. The other, the practice of Critical Education Theory within the Community Design Studio itself, involving aspects of Critical Education Theory such as critical pedagogy, student-centred learning, co-operative learning and critical praxis. The former are really worked examples of the latter while the latter involve explicated theoretical analyses of these examples. This PRAXIS - forms an interrelated whole through which it is possible to continually refine and articulate appropriate actions and methodologies in pertinent situations.
