This section includes a broad explanatory presentation of the application of Critical Theorising in Education, the history of its development, an outline of the key areas of study and its participants and proponents. In addition there is a catalogue of major issues and conceptual study areas (Critical pedagogy, Curriculum Design, Student Centred Education etc.) specifically with respect to social, cultural, politicval and economic factors.
Here you will find numerous worked examples of Critical Education Theory as it has been put into practice in a wide range of circumstances. Examples are taken from New Zealand and the United States. They are mostly concerned with Design - but in a variety of disciplinary settings (eg. Education, Health, Tourism etc) which help to unpack the implications of Critical Practice in these disciplines. They demonstrate the remarkable achievements that students can achieve in real would problem-solving situations using Critical Practice principles.
In this section are located all of those examples of Critical design Practice taken fromn the author's own professional life. They cover critical theorising of Design from the point of view of marxism, Postmodernism, Poststructuralis.
