The University in Chains is a new book by Henry Giroux. It sets out the argument that Higher Education has been captured by the military industrial complex and transformed to serve their interests. It suggests that the University has relinquished its position as critical guardian of democracy, and urges academic staff to take back and recover those elements of academic freedom that have been relinquished.
