Q. Why do I need outside help for developing programmes? A. Teaching and research are both very time consuming elements of the academic role. Good teaching staff are usually very busy and find it hard to take on board the extra wotk of programme evaluation and strategic planning. In addition, they are not usually versed in the processes of programme development and accreditation, and it takes extra time to become familiar with these issues. Finally, although they may know their subject areas ver well, they may not be very good at programme writing or programme development. They need assistance to put their views and visions into an achievable reality.
